Dr. K! asked:
For example, print models are preferred to be at least 5’10″. But if they’re in pictures, what does the extra inch or so do? Is it just so they look thinner because of depth perception, or what?

sample clothes are usually made to fit tall, thin girls. i don’t really now why, but yeah. 5’10 is the preferred height.
they perfer long & lean. also sample clothes are made to fit tall girls and usually are size 0-2. i guess its just how they like girls to be. but i think magazine ads or comercials will let a few inches and a few pounds slide sometimes.
the taller the girl, the more a designer can do with the design. the garmets can be longer and generally “larger than life”.
Runway models are at least 5’10″ tall.
It takes more then just being tall and cute to be a model.
My older sister did some modeling in the 60′s and tried to get her 6′tall daughter into it as well. She met with a group from the Cole bathingsuit co. when she was 16.They picked her apart, she could of got a modeling job if she really wanted it but she thought is was dumb the way they measured your wasit etc.
She used to be 38-23-34 and 6′tall with natural blonde hair and blue eyes big smile and sweet face. She still had to prove herself.
She is now a mom and has gained a ton of weight and is happy has can be.
