It really depends on the actual horse…some thorougbreds are 15 hands while some are 18 hands. Warmbloods are typically bigger bodied horses and tend to work well for a taller person. Good luck.
i always wanted a horse. i dont know what breed is best for u. But i would recommend this book called pony guide. i have it and its awesome. it tells u everything u need to know about horse and ponies and how to care for them. I am trying to get a palomino pony. Thats the gold sorta color horse
You would probably look good on a big boned Hano or TB. I am a hunter judge I like to see tall people on big boned horses, there is something regal about it; however I would not fault you for being too tall unless you were riding a teeny pony.
I would go with a large warmblood or tall TB if you can handle a hot blooded horse. Something with a little QH in it might look good, but it is not all about the breed, a grade horse can look just a good as a purebred in the ring. It’s about performance not pedigree!
Most of the people I know who ride English prefer Thoroughbreds. I do rodeo and Western playdays and ride a Paint Quarterhorse.
American Saddlebred are very nice for what you’re talking about, but I guess it depends on where you’re located if they are available or not.
